Santiago (Santi) Yori Restrepo was born amidst the magical realism of Colombia and grew up surviving the unhinged humidity of South Florida. He now resides in beautifully dry California where he is a PhD candidate in MCB/ChemBio at the University of California, Berkeley.

His thesis work aims to develop chemical biology tools to dumpster dive inside cells and figure out which proteins are being thrown out.

When he’s not pulling his hair out doing research, he enjoys cycling in the Berkeley hills, eating food, and making art.
